Reflecting ecology in policy
EFNCP workshop at EDGG Conference
Date: 20-24 September 2016
Location: Sighisoara, Romania
The 13th Eurasian Grassland Conference is organised by Babes-Bolyai University and EFNCP members EDGG and Fundatia Adept. The topic of the Conference is Management and conservation of semi-natural grasslands: from theory to practice, and it aims to link latest research, with practical management and policy contributing to the sustainability of semi-natural grasslands.
EFNCP has been invited to organise one of the three pre-conference workshops. The objective of the Reflecting Ecology in Practice workshop is to jointly analyse several biodiversity-related measures in the Common Agricultural Policy to assess whether they correspond to available scientific knowledge. The debate will focus on how policies can be simple (i.e. applicable to real farming conditions) but ecologically meaningful. Results-based agri-environment schemes will be presented as one of the most recent developments in targeted conservation measures.
Early registration and abstract submission for the Conference will remain open until the 15th July. Check the website of the Conference and download the second Call for further information.
