School to promote livestock practices in the Catalan Pyrenees

A project in the middle of the Catalan Pyrenees is helping to boost and reinforce shepherding and herding in that area. The project is called Grèpia: Territori Ramader (Grèpia: Livestock Country) and it consists of training in livestock management, a land bank, the provision of technical advice, the promotion of meat and wool from local breeds and highlighting the importance of livestock raising to young people in the area.

The project's website is only available in catalan but provides a visual impression of what the project is doing (http://projectegripia.wordpress.com).

Further information on the project can be sought from Vanesa Freixa (the coordinator of the project)
