EFNCP signs UK HNV farming manifesto

EFNCP welcomed the launch of the UK HNV farming manifesto on the 25th of November. Launched at a meeting Westminster organised by the RSPB and hosted by four cross-party parliamentary groups, the manifesto is supported by a range of NGOs, including the Forum.
Speaking at the meeting, Gwyn Jones stressed the need to match the heightened recognition of the value of HNV farming systems with practical support to ensure that they are socio-economically sustainable.
'For too long, HNV farms have been economically-small farms. It's not right that HNV farmers earn less than the minimum wage when they're delivering ecosystems services and public goods for the rest of us,' he said.
